[more]Congratulations to Alexander Agadjanian '18 and Professor Yusaku Horiuchi for the publication of their paper "Has Trump Damaged the U.S. Image Abroad? Decomposing the Effects of Policy Messages on Foreign Public Opinion" in the journal Political Behavior! The first version of this paper was Alexander's GOV 80 independent research paper submitted in spring term of 2017 which has now made its way into a leading journal. Read it here.
[more]Becca Heller '05 was named a 2018 MacArthur Genius Fellow for 'mobilizing the resources of law schools and law firms to defend the rights of refugees and improve protection outcomes for many of the world's most at-risk populations.' She is one of only 25 individuals chosen for their "extraordinary originality and dedication in their creative pursuits and a marked capacity for self-direction." [more]Secretary of Defense James Mattis spoke to Professor Michael Mastanduno’s Government 54 class, US Foreign and Military Policy, as well as Dartmouth veterans from the College and graduate schools, members of ROTC and the War & Peace Fellows of the John Sloan Dickey Center for International Understanding. Secretary Mattis spoke about his overarching goals for US security policy as well as the values that inform those goals. After speaking for roughly 25 minutes, he spent the remainder of the class hour taking questions from students.
