Join us for the 2025 Portman Lecture in the Spirit of Entrepreneurship with 40th U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo. Secretary Raimondo will share her expertise on AI and national security, her creation of the U.S. AI Safety Institute in the Department of Commerce, mitigation of national security threats presented by AI, and launching of the international network of AI Safety Institutes. Secretary Raimondo will also speak about her innovative policies and initiatives including the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the CHIPS and Science Act, and the Inflation Reduction Act.

This conversation will be moderated by Matthew Slaughter, The Paul Danos Dean of the Tuck School and Earl C. Daum 1924 Professor of International Business.

The program will take place in the Irving Atrium located on the entrance level of the Arthur L. Irving Institute for Energy and Society, 33 Tuck Mall in Hanover, NH. 

The Portman Entrepreneurial Leadership Fund was established in 2004 by William C. Portman '45 Tu'47, together with Robert J. Portman '78, William C. Portman III Tu'81, and Virginia Portman Amis. The Portman Lectures in the Spirit of Entrepreneurship bring to campus cutting-edge policy thinkers and practitioners in the areas of small business development and entrepreneurship.

This event is part of the 100 Days Speaker Series, which builds on Dartmouth’s commitment to bring diverse perspectives and expertise to our institution, as we discuss focal policy areas impacted by the presidential transition. This series is being cosponsored by the Rockefeller Center for Public Policy and the Social Sciences, Dartmouth Dialogues, Tuck Center for Entrepreneurship, and the Center for Business, Government and Society at Tuck, in collaboration with the Dartmouth Democrats, Dartmouth Conservatives, and the Dartmouth Political Union
