Rose Gottemoeller will speak about the impact of the U.S.-Russia shift on Ukraine, NATO, and America's global position, in conversation with Victoria K. Holt.
The foundation of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) has for generations been the strong relationship between the United States and Europe. The early weeks of the second Trump administration quickly ruptured that rapport, as Trump’s Washington began to look towards Moscow for partnership instead of Brussels. While the effects of this dramatic shift will be felt far and wide for years to come, the most immediate impact has been on the trajectory of Russia’s war in Ukraine.
Join us for a discussion with Rose Gottemoeller, former Deputy Secretary General of NATO and former Under Secretary for Arms Control and International Security at the US Department of State, as she shares insights on what this shift means for Ukraine, for NATO, and for the United States’ position in the world. Rose will be in conversation with Victoria K. Holt, Norman E. McCulloch Jr. Director of the John Sloan Dickey Center for International Understanding.
