The Dartmouth Political Union is pleased to welcome Dr. Russell Jeung. Named one of the 100 most influential people of 2021 by TIME magazine, Dr. Russell Jeung is a Professor of Asian American Studies at San Francisco State University and the co-founder of Stop AAPI Hate, which tracks and reports on the startling rise in anti-Asian violence and discrimination due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He has written extensively about race, religion, and social movements in Asian American and Pacific Islander communities. Professor Jeung will focus on his work with Stop AAPI Hate and on what he perceives as the need for national unity around Asian American Studies and critical race theory debates.
