Communications metadata can be used to identify the user of a device and profile a user's personality and behavior.

This webinar presents a categorization of the uses of communications metadata based on their privacy impact, and is a start towards developing legal and policy privacy protections for communications metadata. The current work provides a framework for thinking about the privacy implications of the use of communications metadata.
