After graduating from Dartmouth, I joined the staff of Foreign Affairs magazine, and I've been working there ever since. Currently, I'm an executive editor, which means I do a lot of commissioning and editing for the publication. I'm also working on a book about the 1960s Congo Crisis.
Dartmouth is fortunate to have a world-class government department, and I benefited greatly from the personal attention its renowned scholars were able to offer. Simply put, they taught me how to think and how to write. (The experience of producing a senior thesis was particularly valuable.) I put these skills to use every day at Foreign Affairs. I've even had the chance to edit some of my professors—an experience that has been less frightening and more rewarding than expected!
