R is one of the most popular programming language and environment used primarily for statistical computing. Stata is another commonly used data analysis package available from a commercial vendor. This workshop teaches you how to extend the power of Stata using R. It introduces R using Stata terminology which you are already familiar. It walks you through the most used programs written in both languages, comparing the two packages’ s different approaches. Through this workshop, you will be able to use R in conjunction with Stata, or separately, to import data, manipulate it, generate publication quality graphics, and perform basic statistical analyses.
