Government Department First-Year Open House

Meet the faculty, discuss your interests, review teaching schedule. Refreshments Provided.

Thursday, September 12, 2019
10:00am – 11:00am
Hinman Forum, Rockefeller Center
Intended Audience(s): Faculty, Students-Undergraduate

Come meet faculty in the Department of Government and learn about our course offerings, majors and minor, and our Off-Campus programs. The Department of Government maintains the ancient Greek concern with the nature of order and governance at every level of social interaction. We are also attentive to communal failures and to the divisions, conflicts, and wars to which such failures give rise. We explore these issues from diverse perspectives. Faculty and students analyze texts, conduct surveys, experiments, interviews, and case studies, and collect and analyze quantitative data in their efforts to understand the political world. Students can focus their studies on particular areas within Government, such as American politics, comparative politics, international relations, and political theory & law.

Please visit the Department website for more information, including the Major, Minor and Modified Majors requirements, faculty biographies, Honors Program and Off-Campus Programs in London, UK and Washington D.C. https://govt.dartmouth.edu/
