In this talk Stephen Pettigrew will be discussing his work for the NBC News Decision Desk. The Decision Desk team is responsible for projecting the winner in all major elections for NBC, MSNBC, and other affiliates. In the talk, he will describe the process of how votes get from the polling places where they are counted to the TV and computer screens watched by millions of Americans on Election Night. He will also talk about how the data are used to project races, and the considerations that go into painting a complete and accurate picture of the election as the night unfolds.
