Alumni Update: Elizabeth King '13

Elizabeth King graduated from Dartmouth College in 2013 with a B.A. in Government. While at Dartmouth, Elizabeth was part of the inaugural Great Issues Scholars cohort and a War and Peace Fellow. She participated in the Dartmouth-Oxford Exchange at Keble College and interned at the American Chamber of Commerce in Singapore. She also played water polo and was on the leadership team for Agape Christian Fellowship. All of these Dartmouth experiences, including the many classes she took at the Government Department, were foundational for her career as a lawyer today.

After Dartmouth, Elizabeth spent a few years serving in AmeriCorps and also worked in the non-profit sector as an associate product manager at EARN (now SaverLife). Elizabeth then attended Yale Law School. At YLS, Elizabeth was involved with various student journals, published a couple articles, and served as co-chair of the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association.

Following law school, Elizabeth practiced at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP in New York before moving to Boston where she is now a health care attorney at Ropes & Gray LLP. As a health care specialist, she counsels nonprofit and for-profit hospitals, academic medical centers, provider organizations and private equity firms on strategic transactions and regulatory matters. Elizabeth particularly enjoys advising hospitals and health systems on mergers, acquisitions and affiliations. She also maintains an active pro bono practice representing non-profit organizations, as well as refugees and asylum seekers.

Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, exploring the Northeast and spending time with her family.
